A clear, step-by-step guide to install the APK on Android, create your account, and start earning. Most people are set up in under 5 minutes.
Missed the download notification? The APK is still on your phone — find it below.
Find the My Files app (or any file manager) on your home screen or app drawer and open it.
Tap into the Downloads folder. That's where your browser saved the Money SMS APK.
Tap the moneysms.apk file. When Android asks to install, tap Install in the bottom-right.
Android blocks apps from outside the Play Store by default. Confirm the installer once for your browser — the APK on our site only installs Money SMS.
Chrome warns it can't install unknown apps from this source. Tap Settings on the warning.
In the Settings list, tap Apps — on some devices this is called Apps & Notifications.
Inside Apps, scroll down to Special app access (sometimes hidden under "Advanced") and tap it.
Tap Install unknown apps to see which apps can install APKs.
Tap Chrome (or whichever browser you used to download).
Turn on Allow from this source, then tap the APK again to install.
Play Protect flags apps from outside the Play Store that need SMS access — that's why Money SMS triggers the warning. The cards below turn Play Protect off just long enough to install, then back on.
You'll see an App blocked to protect your device warning. Tap OK.
Go to your home screen or app drawer and open the Play Store.
In the top-right corner of the Play Store, tap your profile icon.
In the account menu that opens, scroll past Notifications and Payments, then tap Play Protect.
On the Play Protect screen, tap the gear icon in the top-right corner to open Play Protect settings.
In Play Protect settings, locate the Scan apps with Play Protect toggle — the first option under General.
Tap the toggle. A Turn off app scanning? dialog appears — tap Turn off.
Back on the settings screen, confirm the Scan apps with Play Protect toggle is now gray/off.
Open Downloads, tap MoneySms.apk, and tap Install — no warning this time.
Follow each card below — sign up, verify your email, and accept the in-app prompts.
Open Money SMS. Swipe through the onboarding carousel (or skip) to reach the sign-in screen.
On the sign-in screen, tap Sign Up. To change the app's language first, tap the top-right language icon.
Search or scroll the language picker, then tap your language. The app switches instantly.
Pick your country and enter your phone number — make sure the country code matches your SIM.
Enter your real email (you'll need it to withdraw or restore your account), then create a password.
The Email Verification screen opens. We send a 6-digit code — keep this screen open and check your inbox.
Open your email, find the message from No-reply Money SMS, and copy the 6-digit code.
Back in Money SMS, paste the code into the Verification code field and tap Continue.
Tap Allow Permission, then Allow to whitelist Money SMS — Android won't kill it in the background.
Tap Allow to let Money SMS run in the background — needed to catch SMS when your screen is off.
Read and accept the Terms of Use. Your account is created — one final permission to go.
When Android asks to skip battery optimisation, tap Allow — otherwise battery savers may pause the app.
SMS access unlocks earnings — the app needs it to detect our test messages. Most phones just need one tap; Android 15 adds two quick steps in Settings.
On the Permissions required to continue screen, tap the orange Allow Permission button. Android will then ask for SMS access.
On Android 15, an Android 15 detected popup appears. Tap its orange button to open App info. Android 14 or older: skip ahead.
Android 15 shows an App was denied access to SMS dialog right after it blocks the request. Tap OK — the next cards re-enable access.
You're already on App info from the previous step. Tap Permissions — SMS sits under Not allowed. Tap the SMS row.
The SMS permission screen opens with Don't allow selected and Allow grayed out. That's Android 15's restricted-settings lock.
On App info, tap the three-dot menu (top-right), then Allow restricted settings. No dots? Reopen App permissions from Money SMS.
A small Restricted settings allowed for Money SMS banner slides up at the bottom of App info. SMS access is no longer locked.
Back on the SMS permission screen, the Allow Money SMS to send and view SMS messages? dialog appears automatically. Tap Allow.
Back in App permissions, SMS now sits under Allowed, and the Allow Permission button has disappeared from Money SMS. You're set to earn.
One last step: confirm your phone can receive SMS. After that, you're set up to earn.
On the Money SMS home screen, tap the red verification banner at the top — it kicks off the SMS-based phone-number check.
We send a verification SMS to your number. The app reads it automatically — you don't need to type anything.
Keep the app running in the background to grow your availability index — the higher it is, the more SMS you receive.
Stuck on a step? The most common issues and quick fixes are below. For permission, privacy, and Play Protect concerns, see the full security guide.
Security infoAndroid is blocking installs from outside the Play Store. Go back to Step 2 and turn on Install unknown apps for your browser. Then tap the APK file again from the Downloads folder.
Tap "More details" on the warning, then "Install anyway." If the warning has no "Install anyway" option, follow Step 3 to turn Play Protect off briefly, install the app, then turn it back on. The APK is safe — Play Protect flags it only because of the SMS permission Money SMS needs to work.
This is an Android 15 protection — see Step 5 for the full walkthrough. Open App Info (long-press the app icon → App info), tap the three dots in the top-right, and choose Allow restricted settings. Then reopen Money SMS and grant the permission.
Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it's still missing, try a different email address — some providers reject our emails. Avoid temporary or alias email addresses.
Close Money SMS completely by swiping it off the recent apps list, then reopen it from the app menu. The permission request will appear again. If you're on Android 15, see the "Restricted setting" answer above.
